Here at Abu Dhabi City Golf Academy we aim to inspire all golfers to practice, improve and enjoy their golf. We aim to provide a level of service and an experience that will create a welcoming environment to all golfers.

We aim to actively grow golf and increase participation across the UAE! From our widely acclaimed junior school to our expert coaches using the latest in game improvement technology, we will not stop in providing opportunities to play golf and to play better golf.

Henry Law

PGA Head Teaching Professional

Henry is in his second spell here at Abu Dhabi City Golf Club having had great success here between 2011-2014.

A fully qualified British PGA professional, Henry has worked at various golf clubs both in England and overseas. He joins us having most recently coached at Capital Golf in London where he was coaching a large number of students including Brian Lara and Michael Flatley.

His coaching philosophy is simple, to improve your ball flight while keeping the explanation as simple as possible. Your understanding of your own swing is fundamental in your journey for better golf. Henry takes pride in being able to converse with all players he meets- whether that is a junior, complete beginner or professional.

 

Simon Westney   

Senior PGA Teaching Professional

  • PGA BRITISH golf professional for 20 years, and now senior teaching professional at Abu Dhabi city golf club.

  • Full time coaching professional for over 15 years, first started coaching in the Middle East in 2008 (Qatar). 15 years coaching experience in the Middle East, including 5 years previously in Abu Dhabi (City golf club).

  • Various additional coaching achievements including achieving TPI level 1,2, and juniors certifications, K-vest certified, Trackman and Sam putt lab trained.

  • Always looked to develop and further my coaching career through attending coaching seminars around the world and online.

  • Coaching philosophy very much influenced by world renowned tour coach Pete Cowan, ‘Coach the player, not the method.’ I believe every player has their own individual strengths and weaknesses, therefore the golf swing technique needs to be adapted according to the person I am working with. No golf swing is the same.

  • Fun facts - best tournament score was 65 (par 71 course). At Lees Hall golf club, Sheffield, England. Favourites golf course is Black Mountain golf club, Hua Hin, Thailand.

 

Donovan Benson (DJ)

PGA Teaching Professional

I got the opportunity to play golf at the age of 13 right here in Abu Dhabi City Golf Club with Henry as my first golf coach. I enrolled in their junior program and went on to play my first few games of golf. After finishing my last year of school, I would spend the next 3 years back in South Africa to complete my studies and become a member of the PGA of South Africa. After completing the 3 years in South Africa, I got offered a job to work in the Golf Shop at Yas Links Abu Dhabi and would spend the next 18 months here. I have been coaching since I was in South Africa and wanted to carry on, it is what I have always wanted to do. Now, I am grateful to say I am a Teaching Professional here at Abu Dhabi City Golf Club, back where this crazy journey started.

 

Nathan Danskin   

PGA Teaching Professional

A passionate British PGA Professional who turned pro in 2018. With a heart for inclusivity, Nathan has experience teaching golf to people of all backgrounds, abilities, and ages. He believes in tailoring each lesson to meet the unique needs and desires of every individual, helping them unlock their full potential on the golf course.

Nathan is all about creating a fun and supportive environment for his golfers. He understands that everyone has their own limitations and he's dedicated to helping each golfer find their own swing and perform their best on the course. With his guidance, you'll be teeing off with confidence and enjoying every moment on the greens!
